ABOUT
The “School of Guides” was created with the support and funding of the Federal Tourism Agency. The main purpose of the course is to train guides-translators in the regions according to a single standard and to provide the work of guides-translators after completing the course. The course is conducted on the platform of the Russian Tour travel company, which is one of the leading operators on the Russian market for receiving foreign tourists.
GUIDE-TRANSLATOR: ADVANTAGES OF THE PROFESSION
• Development of language skills. Ability to communicate with native speakers
• High level of income. The payment for the work of a guide-translator is on average 1.5-2 times higher than the salary of a manager in the office
• Expanding your horizons. During the work, the guide-interpreter constantly comes into contact with the World Heritage monuments, enriching his knowledge of history and culture
• Seasonal type of work. In Russia, the tourist season lasts from April to October, and in the rest of the months the guide-translator can devote time to his education, professional development or just rest
• Flexible schedule. Most of the translation guides are freelancers who plan their own employment and work schedule
WHAT WILL THE COURSE GIVE:
• the opportunity to get an idea and skills of a guide-translator
• drawing up your own author’s excursion route under the guidance of an experienced guide
• mastering public speaking, the basics of marketing and promotion of excursions of their author’s excursions on the tourist market
• study of the history, architecture and religion of our country
• employment in leading travel companies
TERMS OF ADMISSION:
Persons who have an incomplete higher education and have successfully passed an interview in a foreign language (English, Chinese, Arabic) are allowed to master the course program. Free admission to the course will be carried out once in April 2021.
CERTIFICATE AT THE END OF THE COURSE AND WHAT IT GIVES:
Obtaining a certificate at the end of the course gives you the opportunity to start working as a guide-translator for groups of tourists from the tour company Russian Tour
and groups from friendly tour companies
At the moment, the Federal Tourism Agency is developing a general license for guides-translators in Russia, which can be obtained on the basis of the certificate of our school of guides
